一夜的紙醉金迷后美國(guó)聯(lián)邦調(diào)查局的法庭精神分析師Jack Gramm博士（Al Pacino飾）被一宗謀殺案的電話帶離了美人香，這宗謀殺案和9年前的西雅圖殺手案極其相似。Jack當(dāng)時(shí)的精神分析是判定嫌疑犯Foster有罪的關(guān)鍵依據(jù)。現(xiàn)在聯(lián)邦調(diào)查局認(rèn)為Foster是無(wú)辜的，而被害者在臨死前的錄象帶也親口證實(shí)Jack抓錯(cuò)了人。真正的罪犯也許正在逍遙法外。
