印度每年有超過二萬宗針對女性的暴力罪案，平均每二十二分鐘就有一名女性被強暴，每六小時就有一名婦女因家庭暴力喪命。年輕的基層女警索妮與上司卡帕納在德里一同接手調(diào)查不同的女性暴力事件，在辦案過程中往往遭受到了重大阻力，無日無之的罪案令她脾氣暴躁，做事方式偏離常規(guī)，被裁定在執(zhí)勤中行為不當(dāng)，而私人生活也影響到了她的職業(yè)表現(xiàn)，與丈夫已經(jīng)彼此疏離，卻要被迫面對他突然的到訪。印度電影少見的寫實題材，以一場一鏡營造出真實迫力，將社會低下層女性受到壓迫的問題表露無遺。
